The Beginning

Born from Belief

Art Saves Lives was founded on a simple but radical belief: that every young person, regardless of their background or resources, deserves access to world-class arts education.

Launched in St. Maarten over twelve years ago, the program was built on a vision: to bring the world to St. Maarten's young artists, and to send St. Maarten's young artists into the world.

From the very first summer intensive, the program drew on the power of visiting artists, cultural exchange, and community to create something transformative: not just a week of classes, but a life-changing experience.

Alongside St. Maarten's own gifted teachers and artists, we bring visiting professionals from across the globe, creating a powerful collaboration that enriches the entire community.

Opening Global Pathways

We connect young Caribbean artists to international networks, opportunities, and stages, so that geography is never a ceiling on what they can achieve or where their gifts can take them.

The Solution

An Immersive Intensive That Changes Everything

The Art Saves Lives Summer Youth Arts Intensive brings internationally recognized artists and mentors directly to St. Maarten to work with local youth in a week-long immersive experience.

Students participate at no cost, ensuring that financial circumstances never prevent a talented young person from accessing world-class training.

Auditions are used only to place students at appropriate skill levels, not to exclude anyone. Every young person who wants to participate has a path in.

The program concludes with a major public showcase performance: a moment of celebration that honors the growth, courage, and creative power of each student.
